Lesivo Bestial
On the Symbolic Power of Walls
A Colombian printer and graphic designer, Lesivo Bestial launched his urban art project in late 2004, using imagery as a form of visual communication reproduced in public spaces.
Stencil art and screen printing are the techniques he uses to create murals, posters, and stickers, enabling him to maintain complete independence in the creation, production, and distribution of his artistic work.
His work explores a wide range of themes, including the climate crisis, consumerism, education, labour, politics, and the media.
Likewise, his characters are created through collages assembled from catalogues, magazines, dictionaries, instruction manuals, and brochures inspired by the advertising aesthetics of the 1930s to the 1960s.
